Creative inspiration can strike at any moment and noted Twilight fan Olivia Rodrigo knows this well. While isolating at home, many celebs have tapped into their own experiences to create highly personal projects like Taylor Swift’s folklore. But others have also taken to external stimuli to make their creative juices flow. Olivia, for one, seems to have found her creative pot of gold in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight.

The first instalment of the seminal vampiric saga — or, the first "existential art house" film, as RobPat recently dubbed it — takes centre stage in Olivia’s new creation. As JustJaredJr. reported, on August 23, the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at her writing process, and she let fans in on her unexpected source of inspiration. “Not me having [writer's] block and writing a pop song about Bella Swan moving to forks and meeting Edward Cullen in a science lab,” Olivia captioned a video of herself with her trusty guitar on hand. And if that’s already sounding like a bop to you, it’s because it is.

“New town, new car, new friends, new place, try to fit in… I’ve never been the best at talking,” Olivia sings in the opening verse, accompanied by stinging guitar riffs. “Lockers and lunches here, the girls are all so weird and I’ve never been the best at talking but I saw you across the room. Said hello and that I’m new. And I swear there’s something about you… So do you want to hang out? Maybe we can make out? Oh, you like music? Hey, me too! Don’t know if you’re busy, don’t know if you like me. Don’t know if it’s weird but I do kinda like you. This small town thing isn’t as bad as I thought so… do you want to hang out or not?”

And, well, that’s the main plot of Twilight perfectly summed up in under 45 seconds. Now that we know Stephanie Meyer is planning to write at least two more books for the saga, Olivia will have source material aplenty.
